30 – 31 August 2016 – International Conference: Beyond the Formal Curriculum in Universities

The International Conference: Beyond the Formal Curriculum in Universities was held on 30-31 August 2016 by the Centre for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CETL), Professional Development and Capacity Building for Residential Education (ResEd) Project, and Hall Education Development (HED) Project at The University of Hong Kong (HKU). This conference has attracted over 200 participants from local and overseas institutions. Apart from being one of the organizing committee members, Dr. Cecilia Chan gave a presentation on “Assessing Generic Competencies in Hall Education and Extra Curricular Activities”, which not only put forward the challenges in the assessment of these competencies, but also emphasized the importance of students developing these competencies for career, social and life. Throughout the conference, Michelle and Katherine acted as MCs introducing the guests and talked about the conference programme. Michelle has done a great job as the conference secretary and this event has also been a good opportunity for Lavina to act as a conference staff.
